BBQ Breakfasts, LUNCHES & Afternoon Teas

Owned by Michelle, who is originally from South Africa, is keen to share a social custom from her part of the world - the 'Braai' (Afrikaans for Grilled meat, Barbecue.)

As you walk along the waterfront you will be drawn by the delicious aromas of the locally sourced produce as it is being freshly barbecued.

We also offer a delicious lunch menu, homemade cream teas, as well as being able to take bookings for special occasions.

Our regulars call it a hidden gem

"A real hidden gem, although judging by the number of people there this morning it won't be hidden for much longer. Lovely food with a great view what more could you want? They were a little busy today and granted the wait for food was maybe a little longer than normal but when you're not in any rush, it doesn't matter. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the view and BBQ cooking smell. I'll be back soon!"

"The Salt Shack Café is a real hidden gem tucked around the back of the marina. There's a lovely spot to sit outside overlooking the sea and all the boats. Enjoy a glass of wine, a mouthwatering smoothie, or a bottle of beer. Tea and coffee, tasty sandwiches and delicious barbecue breakfasts. There is seating area inside too, if the weather changes. Love this place."

"Just been here today for lunch. Wow, what a find! It was so nice, lovely location, chilled out area, lovely music playing in the background, food was really nice, and the staff was helpful and informative. I will be coming back again, the sea view was amazing."

"Great cafe alongside the boats in the marina. Delicious, inventive food made by a passionate chef and served by lovely people. Fantastic coffee, juices and the odd drop of alcohol. What more could you ask? Oh, views, it's got them too! Please visit soon to see what I'm talking about."
- Sandy Hamilton-Power

"Wonderful place! Delicious coffee and breakfast is excellent. The food is prepared using quality ingredients and you can tell they have a passion for what they do, all topped off by a welcoming and relaxing seating area with wonderful views of the harbour!"
